About Lydia Peelle

Lydia Peelle is an American author born in Boston in 1978, best known for her debut short story collection Reasons for and Advantages of Breathing, which was a New York Times Editors' Choice, received an honorable mention for the PEN/Hemingway Award, and contributed to her National Book Foundation "5 under 35" honor. She earned an MFA from the University of Virginia, worked as a speechwriter for the Governor of Tennessee, and has received awards including the Whiting Award, two Pushcart Prizes, and an O. Henry Prize for her fiction focused on the American South. Peelle lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
