About Luis Rosales

Luis Rosales Camacho (1910–1992) was a Spanish poet and essayist associated with the Generation of '36. Born in Granada, he studied in Madrid, befriended poets like Federico García Lorca, and published early works amid the Spanish Civil War, though he could not prevent Lorca's execution despite family ties. His poetry evolved from classical influences to innovative styles blending lyricism and narrative, earning him the Miguel de Cervantes Prize in 1982, Spain's highest literary honor.
