About Louis Pergaud

Louis Pergaud (1882-1915) was a French novelist, poet, and soldier best known for his "Animal Stories" featuring wildlife from the Franche-Comté region, most notably La Guerre des boutons (1912), a classic children's novel adapted into multiple films, and the award-winning short story collection De Goupil à Margot (1910), for which he received the prestigious Prix Goncourt.com
