Louis Francis

Louis Francis (born Louis Francis Rolland; February 7, 1900 – November 9, 1959) was a French novelist and educator who won the prestigious Prix Renaudot in 1934 for his novel Blanc, set against the backdrop of a painful love story in the Alps. A graduate of the École Normale Supérieure and agrégé des lettres, he taught in Paris and Turkey, publishing works inspired by his travels including Les nuits sont enceintes (1929) and La Neige de Galata (1936), before resuming teaching later in life.French
