About Lisa Ko
Lisa Ko is an American novelist of Chinese heritage based in New York. Her debut novel The Leavers (2017) won the PEN/Bellwether Prize for Socially Engaged Fiction, awarded by Barbara Kingsolver, and was a finalist for the National Book Award for Fiction. The novel explores the experience of an undocumented Chinese immigrant and her American-raised son. Ko has been a writer-in-residence at various institutions including the New York Foundation for the Arts.
