About Li Kotomi

Li Kotomi (born December 26, 1989, in Taiwan) is a Taiwanese fiction writer, essayist, and translator who writes primarily in Japanese, having moved to Japan in 2013 for graduate studies at Waseda University and obtaining permanent residency there in 2018. Her notable works include Hitorimai (Solo Dance, 2018), which won the Gunzo Prize for New Writers, and Higanbana ga saku shima (An Island Where Red Spider Lilies Bloom, 2021), which earned her the prestigious Akutagawa Prize.Li Kotomi
