About Lewis B. Puller
Lewis Burwell Puller Jr. (1945-1994) was an American author and Marine Corps officer, son of legendary Lt. Gen. Lewis "Chesty" Puller, who was severely wounded in Vietnam in 1968, losing both legs and parts of his hands. He later became an attorney and wrote the acclaimed autobiography Fortunate Son: The Healing of a Vietnam Vet (1991), chronicling his war experiences, recovery, struggles with alcoholism and depression, which won the 1992 Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Autobiography.
