Laurent Gaudé (born 1972) is a French writer and playwright known for his novels and dramatic works, including the award-winning La Mort du roi Tsongor (2002) and Le Soleil des Scorta (2004), the latter earning him the prestigious Prix Goncourt and Prix Jean Giono. He has also received the Prix Goncourt des lycéens, Prix des libraires, European Book Prize, and Grand prix du roman métis for various works.
