Laura Kasischke (born December 5, 1961) is an American poet and novelist best known for her novels Suspicious River, The Life Before Her Eyes, and White Bird in a Blizzard, all adapted into films, and her poetry collection Space, In Chains.com She has received major awards including the National Book Critics Circle Award for Space, In Chains, the Juniper Prize, the Alice Fay di Castagnola Award, Pushcart Prizes, and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and Guggenheim Foundation.
