Laura Elizabeth Howe Richards (1850-1943), an American author, wrote over 90 books including children's literature like Captain January, nonsense verse such as Eletelephony, and biographies; she co-authored the Pulitzer Prize-winning Julia Ward Howe, 1819-1910 (1917) with her sisters Maud Howe Elliott and Florence Howe Hall.
