Lamya H (she/they) is a queer Muslim immigrant writer and organizer born in the mid-1980s in South Asia, who moved to the Middle East at age four and to the US at age 17 for college, now based in New York City.LGBTQ Religious Archives, Lamya H site. Their most notable work is the memoir Hijab Butch Blues (2023), which won the Brooklyn Public Library Book Prize and Stonewall Nonfiction Book Award, and was a finalist for Lambda Literary and Publishing Triangle Awards.
