About Laleh Khadivi
Laleh Khadivi was born in Esfahan, Iran, in 1977 to a Kurdish family and emigrated to the United States with her family after the Iranian Revolution. She is the author of the Kurdish Trilogy—The Age of Orphans (2009), The Walking (2013), and A Good Country (2017)—and has received awards including the Whiting Award, Barnes & Noble Discover New Writers Award, and National Endowment for the Arts Grant. She is also a filmmaker and professor at the University of San Francisco.
