About Kitty Barne

Marion Catherine \"Kitty\" Barne (1882-1961) was a prolific British author of children's books and screenwriter, best known for her novel Visitors from London (1940), which won the Carnegie Medal for the year's best children's book by a British subject, and other works like She Shall Have Music (1938) and Rosina Copper (1954). Born in Petersham, Surrey and raised in Sussex, she studied at the Royal College of Music and drew from her experiences in the Women's Voluntary Service during World War II evacuation efforts in her writing.Goodreads author page, Prabook
