Kimberly Willis Holt

Kimberly Willis Holt is an American author of children's and young adult literature, born on September 9, 1960, in Pensacola, Florida. She is best known for her novel When Zachary Beaver Came to Town, which won the 1999 National Book Award for Young People's Literature and was adapted into a 2003 film, along with other notable works like My Louisiana Sky, which received the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award. Holt has earned numerous accolades, including ALA Notable Books and state reading awards, for her poignant coming-of-age stories set in the rural South and Texas.
