Kildare Dobbs

Kildare Robert Eric Dobbs (1923–2013) was a Canadian short story and travel writer born in Meerut, India, educated in Ireland, who served in the Royal Navy during WWII and worked in the British Colonial Service in Tanganyika before immigrating to Canada in 1952, where he edited for Macmillan of Canada, Saturday Night, and The Toronto Star Weekly.
