Kevin Powers (born 1980) is an American author and poet best known for his debut novel The Yellow Birds (2012), which draws on his experiences as an Iraq War veteran and won the PEN/Hemingway Award, Guardian First Book Award, and Anisfield-Wolf Book Award while being a National Book Award finalist.
