About Kazuo Ozaki

Kazuo Ozaki (1899-1983) was a Japanese novelist renowned for his I-novel (shinkei shosetsu or private fiction) style, depicting personal struggles, nature observations, and confrontations with mortality during his impoverished life and long illness. Akutagawa Prize IMDb. His most notable works include Nonki Megane (Rosy Glasses, 1937), for which he won the Akutagawa Prize, as well as Mushi no Iroiro (Various Bugs, 1948), Utsukushii Hakaba kara no Nagame (View from a Beautiful Cemetery, 1948), Maboroshi no Ki (1961, Noma Prize), and Ano Hi Kono Hi (1970-1973, Noma Prize); he later received the Cultural Medal in 1978.Japanese
