Kathryn Hind

Kathryn Hind is an Australian author born in Canberra, winner of the inaugural Penguin Literary Prize in 2018 for her debut novel Hitch (2019), which also received the UK's Betty Trask Prize and a Canberra Critics Circle Award. She has published essays, short stories, and poems, and is pursuing a PhD in creative writing and literary studies at the Australian National University. Her work explores themes of consent, grief, agency, and female characters in fiction, establishing her as a notable voice in contemporary Australian literary fiction.
