About Katha Pollitt

Katha Pollitt (born October 14, 1949) is an American poet, essayist, and critic best known for her bimonthly "Subject to Debate" column in The Nation magazine. She has authored two poetry collections, including the National Book Critics Circle Award-winning Antarctic Traveller (1982), and four essay collections addressing feminism, abortion rights, politics, and social issues. Pollitt received multiple National Magazine Awards and other honors for her contributions to journalism and poetry.
