About Kate Ross
Katherine Jean "Kate" Ross (1956-1998) was an American author of historical mystery novels set in Regency-era England, best known for her Julian Kestrel series: Cut to the Quick (1994, Gargoyle Award winner), A Broken Vessel (1995), Whom the Gods Love (1996), and The Devil in Music (1997, Agatha Award for Best Novel). A former trial lawyer educated at Wellesley College and Yale Law School, she published four novels and short stories before her death from breast cancer at age 41.com, EBSCO
