Karl Shapiro

Karl Shapiro (1913–2000) was an American poet known for his World War II-era verses, winning the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1945 for V-Letter and Other Poems, and serving as Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress (1946–1947). Pulitzer.org.
