Kai Bird (born 1951) is an American biographer and historian best known for American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer, co-authored with Martin J. Sherwin, which won the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Autobiography, along with the National Book Critics Circle Award and Duff Cooper Prize; other notable works include The Chairman, The Color of Truth, The Good Spy, and The Outlier.
