Justin H. Smith

Justin Harvey Smith (1857-1930) was an American historian specializing in U.S. expansionism, born in Boscawen, New Hampshire. He taught modern history at Dartmouth College before resigning to focus on research, producing notable works such as The War with Mexico (1919), which earned the Pulitzer Prize in 1920 and the first Loubat Prize in 1923, alongside The Annexation of Texas (1911) and Our Struggle for the Fourteenth Colony (1907).com, Pulitzer.org
