About Junot Díaz

Junot Díaz (born 1968) is a Dominican-American author renowned for his vivid portrayals of the immigrant experience in works like the short story collection Drown (1996), the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao (2008), and This Is How You Lose Her (2012). He has also received a MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship (2012) and numerous other honors for his innovative blend of English and Spanglish (MacArthur Foundation). Díaz teaches creative writing at MIT and continues to publish, with no death recorded.
