Junko Takase

Junko Takase (高瀬隼子) is a Japanese novelist born in 1988 in Niihama, Ehime Prefecture, who debuted in 2019 with Things with the Shape of a Dog, winning the 43rd Subaru Literature Prize. Her novel May You Have Delicious Meals won the prestigious 167th Akutagawa Prize in 2022 and sold over 180,000 copies, while Taking a Breath in Standing Water was a nominee for the Akutagawa Prize, and Good Child's Yawn earned the 74th Art Encouragement Prize for Newcomers in 2024.
