About Jun Kasahara
Jun Kasahara (1936-2015) was a Japanese novelist who won the prestigious 90th Akutagawa Prize in 1984 for his work Mokuji no Sekai (The World of Mokuji), marking the first time a story from the magazine Kaien received the award. His other notable works include Walk Cry, for which he received the Shinchō Newcomer Award in 1976, Konchū Zufu (Insect Atlas), and Yūhi ni Akai Ho (Red Sails in the Sunset). He debuted with the Novel Gendai Newcomer Award in 1969 for Hyōhaku no Ide (Drift Departure) and later served as a professor at Hosei University from 2003 to 2006. Akutagawa Prize, Booklog
