About Julia Phillips
Julia Phillips (born February 4, 1988) is an American author whose debut novel Disappearing Earth (2019) was a finalist for the National Book Award for Fiction, one of The New York Times' 10 Best Books of 2019, and named a bestseller translated into 26 languages; her second novel Bear (2024) has been longlisted for the Carol Shields Prize and shortlisted for the Joyce Carol Oates Literary Prize. A Guggenheim fellow, 2024, she has written for The New York Times, The Atlantic, and The Paris Review, and teaches in the Randolph College MFA program. Author Website
