Julia Leigh (born 1970) is an Australian novelist, film director, and screenwriter best known for her award-winning novels The Hunter (1999), adapted into a film starring Willem Dafoe, and Disquiet (2008), which won the Encore Award. Her debut feature film Sleeping Beauty (2011) was selected for the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival, marking a major achievement in her multifaceted career.
