About Judy Blunt
Judy Blunt (born 1954) is an American memoirist raised on a remote cattle ranch in Phillips County, Montana. She spent over thirty years in ranching life before leaving in 1986 with her three children to attend the University of Montana, where she earned an M.F.A. in 1994 and later became a retired professor and director of creative writing in Missoula. Her memoir Breaking Clean (2002) won multiple awards including the Whiting Award and PEN/Jerard Fund Award, and was named a New York Times Notable Book.
