About Juan Marsé

Juan Marsé Carbó (1933-2020) was a Spanish novelist, journalist, and screenwriter born in Barcelona, who wrote primarily in Spanish about post-war life in the city. He gained prominence with novels such as Últimas tardes con Teresa (1966, Premio Biblioteca Breve) and La muchacha de las bragas de oro (1978, Premio Planeta), earning the Cervantes Prize in 2008 for his contributions to Spanish-language literature.
