About J.S. Marcus

J.S. Marcus is an American novelist born in Milwaukee in 1962. He was educated at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the University of Wisconsin Law School, and his fiction has appeared in The New Yorker and Harper's, while his essays have been published in The New York Times and The New York Review of Books. Notable works include the short story collection The Art of Cartography (1991) and the novel The Captain's Fire (1996); he received the Whiting Award for Fiction in 1992.
