About Joshua Weiner
Joshua Weiner (born 1963) is an American poet, translator, and professor of English at the University of Maryland, College Park. He is the author of three poetry collections published by the University of Chicago Press—The World's Room (2001), From the Book of Giants (2006, winner of the Larry Levis Reading Prize), and The Figure of a Man Being Swallowed by a Fish (2013)—and his translation of Nobel laureate Nelly Sachs's Flight & Metamorphosis (2022, with Linda B. Parshall) was shortlisted for the 2023 National Translation Award in Poetry. A recipient of the Whiting Writers' Award, Rome Prize, Guggenheim Fellowship, and Amy Lowell Poetry Travelling Scholarship, he has published poems and essays in Best American Poetry, The Nation, and the New York Review of Books, and served as poetry editor of Tikkun magazine for over 30 years.
