Joseph Krumgold

Joseph Krumgold (1908-1980), an American author and screenwriter born in Jersey City, New Jersey, became the first writer to win two Newbery Medals for distinguished American children's books—for.And Now Miguel (1953, awarded 1954) and Onion John (1959, awarded 1960), also receiving the Lewis Carroll Shelf Award for the latter.
