About Jorge Guillén

Jorge Guillén (1893–1984) was a Spanish poet, literary critic, and member of the Generation of '27, best known for his major work Cántico and later Clamor. Born in Valladolid, he taught at universities including Oxford and Wellesley College, lived in exile in the US during the Spanish Civil War, and received the Miguel de Cervantes Prize in 1976.Poets.org.
