About Jonathan Escoffery

Jonathan Escoffery is an American writer born in 1987, of Jamaican heritage, raised in Miami. His debut short story collection If I Survive You (2022) was a finalist for the National Book Award for Fiction, the Kirkus Prize, and the PEN/Faulkner Award, and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize 2023. The collection explores Jamaican-American immigrant experience in Miami across generations. Escoffery holds an MFA from the University of Minnesota.
