John Alexander Wilson (born August 3, 1951, in Edinburgh, Scotland) is a Canadian author specializing in historical fiction and non-fiction for young adults and adults, with over 30 books including notable works like Four Steps to Death, The Alchemist's Dream, and Shot at Dawn. Formerly a geologist in Zimbabwe and Alberta, he began writing full-time in 1991 and resides in Lantzville, Vancouver Island, where he has earned multiple finalist nominations for awards such as the Geoffrey Bilson Award, Sheila A.
