John Wilson

John Alexander Wilson (born August 3, 1951, in Edinburgh, Scotland) is a Canadian author specializing in historical fiction and non-fiction for young adults and adults, with over 30 books including notable works like Four Steps to Death, The Alchemist's Dream, and Shot at Dawn. Formerly a geologist in Zimbabwe and Alberta, he began writing full-time in 1991 and resides in Lantzville, Vancouver Island, where he has earned multiple finalist nominations for awards such as the Geoffrey Bilson Award, Sheila A. Egoff Children's Literature Prize, and Governor General's Award.
