John Varley

John Herbert Varley (1947-2025) was an American science fiction author best known for his Eight Worlds series (including The Ophiuchi Hotline and Steel Beach) and the Gaea Trilogy (Titan, Wizard, Demon), along with acclaimed novellas like "The Persistence of Vision" and "PRESS ENTER ■". two Nebula Awards, and ten Locus Awards for his innovative short fiction and novels.
