John Steinbeck

John Ernst Steinbeck (1902–1968) was an American writer and novelist born in Salinas, California. He is widely known for works like Of Mice and Men, East of Eden, and his masterpiece The Grapes of Wrath, which won the Pulitzer Prize and helped earn him the 1962 Nobel Prize in Literature for his realistic and imaginative writings combining sympathetic humor and keen social perception. His stories often explored themes of fate, injustice, and the struggles of downtrodden protagonists in central California settings.
