About John McCullough

John Steven McCullough (born 1978) is an English poet known for his surreal, urban poetry exploring themes of sexuality, mental health, class, and queer identity. His notable works include The Frost Fairs (2011), which won the Polari First Book Prize, Reckless Paper Birds (2019), winner of the Hawthornden Prize and Costa Poetry Award shortlist, Spacecraft (2016), and Panic Response (2022), featuring the Forward Prize-shortlisted poem 'Flower of Sulphur'.
