About John Howard Griffin

John Howard Griffin (1920-1980), an American journalist and author, is best known for his groundbreaking 1961 book Black Like Me, in which he darkened his skin to experience life as a Black man in the segregated South, earning the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award in 1962 and the Pacem in Terris Award in 1964 for advancing racial understanding.
