John Ash

John Ash (1948–2019) was a British poet and writer born in Manchester, England. He lived in New York City from 1985, associating with the New York School poets, before moving to Istanbul in 1996, where he taught at local universities and drew inspiration from Byzantine history and architecture in his work, which appeared in publications like The New Yorker and Paris Review.
