About Johannes V. Jensen
Johannes Vilhelm Jensen (1873–1950) was a Danish author who transitioned from pulp fiction to serious literature, producing novels, poetry, short stories, and essays influenced by Darwinism and evolution. His notable works include Himmerland Stories and the novel The Fall of the King (Kongens Fald), acclaimed as the best Danish novel of the 20th century, as well as the six-novel cycle The Long Journey. He received the 1944 Nobel Prize in Literature for his poetic imagination, intellectual curiosity, and creative style.
