Joe R. Lansdale (born October 28, 1951, in Gladewater, Texas) is an American author and martial arts instructor known for his prolific output across multiple genres, including the acclaimed Hap and Leonard crime series, the novella Bubba Ho-Tep (adapted into a cult film), and novels like The Bottoms and Paradise Sky.
