Joe R. Lansdale

Joe R. Lansdale (born October 28, 1951, in Gladewater, Texas) is an American author and martial arts instructor known for his prolific output across multiple genres, including the acclaimed Hap and Leonard crime series, the novella Bubba Ho-Tep (adapted into a cult film), and novels like The Bottoms and Paradise Sky. He has won numerous prestigious awards, including eleven Bram Stoker Awards, the Edgar Award for The Bottoms, the British Fantasy Award, the American Horror Award, and the Spur Award for Paradise Sky, among other honors such as the World Horror Convention Grand Master Award.
