About Joe Hill

Joe Hill is an American author of horror, dark fantasy, and supernatural fiction. Born Joseph Hillstrom King in 1972—the son of Stephen King and Tabitha King—Hill deliberately withheld his famous parentage for the first years of his publishing career in order to establish his work on its own merits. His debut short story collection 20th Century Ghosts (2005) won the Bram Stoker Award and the British Fantasy Award, and established him as a major voice in contemporary horror independent of his family name. Hill's novels include Heart-Shaped Box (2007), Horns (2010), NOS4A2 (2013), and The Fireman (2016), which won the Goodreads Choice Award for Horror. He is also the writer of the acclaimed comic book series Locke & Key, illustrated by Gabriel Rodríguez, which was adapted as a Netflix television series. His short fiction collections and novellas have further cemented his reputation as one of the most imaginative and accomplished horror writers of his generation. Hill's work is characterised by its emotional depth, its rich intertextual engagement with the horror tradition, and its willingness to experiment with form. He lives in New Hampshire.
