About Joan D. Hedrick
Joan D. Hedrick (born May 1, 1944) is an American historian and biographer best known for her Pulitzer Prize-winning book Harriet Beecher Stowe: A Life (1994) and Solitary Comrade: Jack London and His Work (1982). She earned her A.B. from Vassar College and Ph.D. from Brown University, taught at Wesleyan and Trinity College, and founded Trinity's Women's Studies Program. Pulitzer.org
