Jim Murphy

Jim Murphy (1947-2022) was an acclaimed American author of over 35 books for children and young adults, specializing in nonfiction histories of American events brought to life through primary sources like diaries and letters from young eyewitnesses. His most notable works include The Great Fire, Blizzard!: The Storm That Changed America, An American Plague: The True and Terrifying Story of the Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1793, The Boys' War, and The Long Road to Gettysburg.
