About Jim Grimsley
Jim Grimsley (born September 21, 1955) is an American novelist and playwright known for his semiautobiographical works exploring Southern family life, queer experiences, and fantasy/science fiction. Notable works include Winter Birds (Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction and PEN/Hemingway citation), Dream Boy (Stonewall Book Award), Kirith Kirin and The Ordinary (Lambda Literary Awards), and memoir How I Shed My Skin. He received the Academy Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2005 and taught at Emory University for twenty years. JimGrimsley.net
