Jesús Fernández Santos

Jesús Fernández Santos (1926-1988) was a Spanish novelist and short story writer associated with the Generation of '50, best known for pioneering social realism in post-war Spain with his debut novel Los Bravos (1954). His major works include Extramuros (1978, National Narrative Prize), Libro de las memorias de las cosas (1970, Nadal Prize), and Jaque a la dama (1982, Planeta Prize), earning him numerous accolades including the Critics' Prize.
