Jennifer Crusie (born Jennifer Smith in 1949 in Wapakoneta, Ohio) is an American author of contemporary romance novels known for her humorous, character-driven stories featuring strong women protagonists; she has published over twenty novels translated into 20 languages and currently resides in Pennsylvania. Notable works include Bet Me (2004), Welcome to Temptation (2000), and Agnes and the Hitman (2007, with Bob Mayer), with major achievements including two Romance Writers of America RITA Awards for Bet Me (2005, Best Contemporary Single Title) and Getting Rid of Bradley (1995, Best Short Contemporary Series).
