Jean Lee Latham

Jean Lee Latham (1902–1995) was an American author specializing in children's biographies, born in Buckhannon, West Virginia. Her most notable work, Carry On, Mr. Bowditch (1955), earned the Newbery Medal in 1956, and she also wrote acclaimed biographies of figures like Eli Whitney, Samuel Morse, and Sam Houston.
